Report: Strike at Damascus Airport Kills 11 Top Iranian Commanders

Saudi media reported on the airstrike at Damascus International Airport last Thursday evening and the subsequent casualties among IRGC leaders. According to the reports, 11 high-ranking Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) commanders were killed.

Among those injured was Nur Rashid, the commander of the Revolutionary Guards in eastern Syria.

However, amidst these claims, IRGC spokesman Sardar Ramzan Sharif refuted the reports of casualties, terming them “baseless.” Iranian media quoted Sharif’s denial of the alleged deaths of 11 leaders in the airstrike, casting doubt on the accuracy of the earlier assertions made by Saudi media regarding the casualties at the airport.

The situation in the region remains tense, with speculation pointing toward Israeli involvement in the airstrikes, as Syrian media suggested.
