Al Jazeera reported that a delegation from Qatar traveled to Cairo to engage in indirect talks involving Israel and the Hamas, spurred by recent advancements in negotiations concerning a ceasefire and a prisoner exchange.

Asharq Al-Awsat reported that Hamas consented to the agreement following Israel’s decision to release several senior terrorists, along with a U.S. assurance to oversee Israel’s complete withdrawal from Gaza at the conclusion of the agreement’s final phase, which would also bring an end to the war.

Additionally, it is expected that Hamas will soon announce its acceptance of the ceasefire proposal from Egypt after intensive negotiations facilitated by Egypt and Qatar with both Israel and Hamas.

Arab sources cited by Al Quds anticipate that a ceasefire agreement may be reached by the end of the coming week.

An earlier report from an Egyptian news outlet indicated that Hamas has relinquished its request for guarantees from the mediators for a permanent ceasefire in the initial phase in Gaza.
