By Yoni Weiss
Elyakim Libman, Hy”d, 23, who had been missing since Simchas Torah and was suspected to have been abducted to Gaza, was confirmed dead on Friday. His remains were discovered in Israel after an extensive search that lasted over six months. Libman, who worked as a security guard at the gathering in Re’im, was believed to have been one of the victims of the tragic terror attack.
The discovery of Libman’s remains came as a somber conclusion to the agonizing search for him. His body was found within the burial site of Victoria Gorlov, Hy”d, one of the many individuals who lost their lives during the devastating attack. Due to the condition of the remains, which had become unrecognizable over time and were mistakenly interred alongside another victim, identification could only be achieved through DNA testing.
