Average Monthly Wage in Israel Surpasses NIS 14,000

The average monthly wage in Israel has surpassed NIS 14,000.

Preliminary data for March 2024 released Sunday reveals that the average monthly wage stood at NIS 14,108, marking a 3.5% increase from March 2023, according to the Central Bureau of Statistics. Despite a 2.7% inflation rate during this period, the rise remained relatively modest. Although the number of salaried positions dropped by 1.8% over the period, it saw a 1% increase from February 2024.

Complete figures for February 2024 indicate that the average monthly wage reached NIS 13,539, representing a 9.2% surge from February 2023. Even factoring in inflation, the real average wage climbed by 6.5% over the same period. Conversely, the number of salaried positions slightly decreased in the past year, from 3.991 million in February 2023 to 3.923 million in February 2024.

In the technology sector, the average monthly wage for employees in February 2024 reached NIS 33,964, marking a 13.2% increase from February 2023. Although the number of salaried positions in the tech sector remained nearly unchanged, experiencing a marginal 0.2% decline from the previous February, it also remained steady from January 2023. Overall, salaried positions in the tech industry exceeded 10%, accounting for 10.1% of the total jobs in the economy.
