Contrary to Turkey’s recent announcement of a complete halt on exports and imports to Israel due to the war against Hamas in Gaza, Ankara has temporarily approved the resumption of construction material exports to Israel, as per reports from Globes.

Citing sources familiar with the matter, both Israeli and Turkish officials confirm that Turkey’s Trade Ministry has issued letters to local factories that had previous dealings with Israel, notifying them of this decision.

However, these renewed permits are temporary and limited to factories with prior business ties to Israel. Additionally, senior Turkish trade officials expressed discontent during a recent meeting with Trade Ministry officials regarding the export ban.

Furthermore, efforts are underway within Israel’s Foreign Ministry and Economy Ministry to reduce dependence on Turkish imports in the long term. Initiatives are being pursued to strengthen relationships with Greek and Cypriot suppliers, as reported by Globes.
