Hamas is reportedly regaining control in northern Gaza, and some Israeli military officials argue that not enough is being done to prevent it.

Retired IDF Col. Chezi Nachman, former head of the Menashe Brigade, expressed concern in an interview with 103FM, emphasizing the need for a complete evacuation of northern Gaza until hostages are returned and Hamas is entirely dismantled.

Nachman, along with 150 officers, signed a letter to the War Cabinet calling for the evacuation of northern Gaza, stressing that the IDF lacks the resources to operate effectively in the region. The IDF acknowledges a mistake in estimating the remaining population in northern Gaza, which complicates efforts to distinguish between civilians and Hamas terrorists.

The current situation is described as resembling a combat zone, with ongoing missions that demand attention. The IDF maintains its official stance that no one is allowed to return to northern Gaza, despite the emergence of a Hamas-led marketplace in Jabalya.
