Report: Shin Bet Chief to Resign Following Gaza War

The head of the Shin Bet, Ronen Bar, is set to resign after the conclusion of the Gaza war, as indicated by one of his predecessors. This decision is directly related to the significant intelligence lapses leading up to the tragic events on Simchas Torah.

Former Shin Bet chief Yaakov Perry, speaking on Army Radio, affirmed on Sunday that he had spoken with Bar and is convinced of the latter’s firm decision.

“I have no doubt in my mind that he will be among the first senior Israeli officials to submit their resignations,” Perry added.

Bar, who has taken accountability for the intelligence shortcomings, has pledged that those responsible for the tragic events will face severe consequences.
