When he came of age, he married, thbch”l, Mrs. Chaya, the daughter of the noted tzaddik Harav Asher Freund, zt”l. Following his wedding, he learned Choshen Mishpat in Yerushalayim and was subsequently ordained as a Dayan by Harav Yosef Cohen, zt”l, and also by the Chief Rabbinate of Israel, some 10 years ago.

At the request of the Belzer Rebbe, shlita, he was appointed as a Dayan in the Beis Din for monetary matters in Yerushalayim.

Rav Wasserman was known for his notable acts of chessed. He was a humble person who shied away from honor, discreetly assisting those in need.

He was chosen to serve as a Dayan in the Rabbinate’s Beis Din in 2015, along with 22 other Dayanim.

His murder is a great tragedy for the world of Dayanus in general, and for the Belz community in particular, alongside the residents of Kiryat Mattersdorf in Yerushalayim, where he resided on Sorotzkin Street, who were deeply shocked by this severe disaster.

On Thursday morning, the Dayan was on his way to the Beis Din in Ashdod, as he did daily, and on his way, he was murdered by the terrorists, al kiddush Hashem.

The levayah was held Thursday afternoon from the residence of his father-in-law, Harav Asher Freund, zt”l, on Don Yosef Hanasi Street, and from there via the Belzer beis medrash Kiryat Belz to Har Hamenuchos, where he was laid to rest next to his father-in-law.
