IDF Moves Repair and Maintenance to North
The IDF will be moving its repair and maintenance center to the north, where it is expected to bring with it some 2,000 job opportunities in the coming years.
The move to the industrial zone Tziporit near the Golani Junction is being undertaken in accordance with instructions from Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman. A factory for the manufacture of tanks and armored personnel carriers will be set up at the new site, where operations currently scattered at three different locations will be concentrated in one place for greater efficiency.
At the same time several hundred acres of high-value real estate in the central region will be freed up for development as the IDF repair and maintenance sites in Haifa, Tzrifin and Tel Hashomer are vacated.
The decision was made on the recommendation of Ministry of Defense Director General Udi Adam and the IDF repair and maintenance division.
