The IDF announced on Monday that a commander from Hezbollah’s elite Radwan Force was killed in an overnight airstrike conducted by Israeli aircraft in the southern Lebanese village of Sultaniyeh.

Ali Ahmed Hassin, who held a rank equivalent to a brigade commander and commanded Radwan Forces in Lebanon’s Hajir region, was responsible for orchestrating terror attacks against civilians in northern Israel.

Alongside Hassin, two other Hezbollah militants were also killed in the airstrike.

The Radwan Force, renowned for its exceptional skills and rigorous training, is considered one of Hezbollah’s most proficient units. It has garnered significant combat experience during Syria’s civil war, particularly in reconnaissance, infiltration tactics, and urban warfare strategies.

Estimates suggest that the Radwan Force comprises approximately 8,000 members.

Since Oct. 7, the Iran-backed Hezbollah terrorist group has launched over 3,100 rockets toward northern Israel.

Hezbollah leaders have indicated their intention to persist with rocket attacks to deter thousands of residents in northern Israel from returning to their homes. Israeli authorities have been urging for the disarmament and expulsion of Hezbollah from southern Lebanon, as mandated by U.N. Security Council Resolution 1701, which concluded the 2006 war.
