Ground Troops Withdraw From Southern Gaza; Single Brigade Remains

The IDF has completed the withdrawal of all ground troops from the southern Gaza Strip overnight Motzoei Shabbos, marking the end of four consecutive months of combat operations in the Khan Yunis area. Currently, only one brigade, the Nachal Brigade, remains stationed in the enclave.

The Nachal Brigade’s primary responsibility is to secure the Netzarim Corridor, a vital passage stretching from the Be’eri area in southern Israel to the coast of the Gaza Strip. This corridor facilitates IDF operations in northern and central Gaza, restricts Palestinian movement into the northern region of the enclave, and enables humanitarian organizations to provide direct aid to communities in northern Gaza.
