Report: Turkey Cuts Off Trade With Israel

Turkey halted trade with Israel Thursday amid rising tensions over the latter’s war against the Hamas terror group, according to unnamed officials who spoke with Bloomberg News.

According to the two Turkish officials, Ankara has completely cut off exports to and imports from Israel, following months of condemnation from Turkish President Tayyip Erodgan, who has met with Hamas leaders and has thrown his support behind the terror group.

In March, Erdogan said: “No one can make us qualify Hamas as a terrorist organization…Turkey is a country that speaks openly with Hamas leaders and firmly backs them.” He also referred to the terrorists as “mujahideen;” a term used to describe Jihad fighters, while accusing Israel and Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu of “crimes against humanity.”
