According to a report by Yediot, Minister Gadi Eisenkot, who serves as an observer in the War Cabinet, put forth a plan for post-war Gaza to the Cabinet this week. This plan serves as an alternative to the outline previously drafted by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu last month.

Eisenkot’s proposal suggests that following the removal of Hamas from power and the release of all hostages held by the group, responsibility for Gaza’s civilians would be transferred to a local Palestinian entity. This entity would operate under the supervision of a coalition led by Arab states and the United States.

The outlined plan also emphasizes the importance of a reformed Palestinian entity in ensuring the success of post-war Gaza. It must actively combat terrorism against Israel, reform the education system to eliminate incitement against Israel, and put an end to “pay to slay” policies.

Should such an entity meet the specified criteria, Israel would present it as a viable temporary alternative to the U.S.’s demand for an independent Palestinian state, as per the report.

Eisenkot’s plan also mandates that any future Palestinian entity or state must be completely demilitarized.
