Jeffries Visits Met Council Food Bank in Canarsie
House Democratic Leader Rep. Hakeem Jeffries D-N.Y. (pictured here with Met Council CEO David Greenfield) visited the Met Council’s food bank in Canarsie on Sunday, to celebrate his having secured $1 million in food assistance for the Met Council in the omnibus bill that passed Congress late last year.
Met Council’s Canarsie food bank, in conjunction with the Canarsie JCC, services a campus of three large Met Council senior citizen apartment buildings in the neighborhood, including deliveries directly to residents’ apartments.
Hamodia asked Jeffries about New York’s potentially having its congressional seats redistricted before the 2024 elections. Watch video below
