BD’E — Harav Mendel Schneur Zalman Atik, Zt”l

Hamodia is saddened to report the petirah of Harav Mendel Atik, zt”l, in Yerushalayim. He was exactly 94 years old, as his petirah was on his birthday. [See Rosh Hashanah (11a), that Hashem completes the days of tzaddikim from day to day.]
Harav Atik had learned in Yeishivas Eitz Chaim and Yeshivas Mir in Yerushalayim, and was a close talmid of the Chazon Ish and the Brisker Rav, zt”l. He served for many years as Rosh Yeshivah of Yeshivas Eretz Tzvi.
The levayah was held Motzaei Shabbos in Yerushalayim with kevurah on Har Hamenuchos.
