An Israeli F-16 fighter jet shot down an armed suicide drone launched from the Gaza Strip on Thursday afternoon, one of several downed by the Air Force during the current fighting.

The incident was captured in a video, which was published by the IDF, which said it has successfully intercepted all of the armed drones sent over the border by Hamas.

At least two were intercepted over central Israel on Thursday, according to The Jerusalem Post.

UAV warnings were sounded in the area of Nachal Oz and Alumim near the Gaza border.

One of the drones was aimed at an Israeli gas rig in the Mediterranean, according to an N12 report. It did not specify which one, and the IDF has not disclosed details about the drones, except for the video footage.

The video shows F-16 locking on to the UAV, which carried an estimated 11-pound explosive payload, before destroying it with a missile.

Hamas has claimed that the craft are assembled in Gaza, though the IDF believes that many of the components are smuggled into the enclave, the Post added.
