Amid a political crisis threatening to bring early national elections, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is set to appoint a foreign minister, Hadashot News reported Sunday.

Netanyahu has said he’ll keep the defense portfolio for himself despite Education Minister Naftali Bennett’s demand that he be appoimted defense minister as a condition for not bringing down the government.

Channel 10 news later reported that the leading candidates for the post of Foreign Minister are Energy Minister Yuval Steinitz and Regional Cooperation Minister Tzachi Hanegbi.
