2 Missing Lakewood Boys Found After 4-Hour Search

Two young boys in Lakewood who went missing on their way to yeshivah Monday morning were found in a forest near their home following a four-hour search.

The Lakewood Scoop reports that the boys, brothers aged 7 and 8, missed their bus to Lakewood Cheder. They tried catching up to the bus by cutting through the forest, but when they saw that they couldn’t catch the bus, they headed back toward their home, but they might have been too scared to emerge from the woods.

Officers from Lakewood Police, Ocean County Sheriff’s Department participated in the search, along with K9 units, and were joined by Chaveirim members. The boys were found in the woods by Lakewood Police Det. Mike Cavallo.

The boys, hot and sweaty on a 90-degree day, were taken indoors and given water.
