Rabbi Yosef Baruch Ronen, z”l
Rabbi Yosef Baruch Ronen, z”l, 45, a leader of Breslov Chassidim in Beitar Illit, was tragically killed in a road accident on Tuesday night.
The car he was driving went over a cliff around the Daragot Cliffs near Nahal Daragot in the Judean Desert south of Yerushalayim, according to Arutz Sheva.
His car swerved off the edge and over the cliff, falling about 200 feet.
The location of the car was difficult to reach because of rough terrain on the side of the cliff, and the recovery operation was not completed until Wednesday morning.
“After long hours of rescue [efforts], the body was recovered and returned [to the family] in the early hours of the morning,” a spokesman for the Megillot Regional Council rescue team said. They worked together with Yehudah and Shomron District police.
Rabbi Ronen, z”l, leaves behind a wife and nine children.
The levayah was scheduled for later Wednesday in Yerushalyim.
