IAF Commander: Greater Challenges Await
The commander of the Israeli Air Force warned Wednesday of what can be expected in future conflicts with the enemies on Israel’s borders.
Maj. Gen. Amir Eshel said that “in the wars to come that we will be forced to take part in our region, we will have to conduct operations even as IDF bases are under fire from ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and large numbers of unmanned aircraft over Israeli airspace.”
The remarks were made at an awards ceremony on Wednesday for “special projects” that will help prepare the air force for “challenges much greater than we faced in Operation Protective Edge.”
