Netanyahu Undergoes Medical Tests
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu underwent medical testing on Wednesday and had a polyp removed. Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman was appointed as his temporary replacement.
The test was a routine gastrointestinal checkup that Netanyahu undergoes every year, in order to complete the medical report he submits to the public.
A small polyp was removed from his large intestine in the course of the tests.
Lieberman’s appointment was approved after a telephone survey of the ministers was conducted by the government secretariat.
On Friday, Netanyahu arrived at Hillel Yaffe Hospital in Hadera after feeling ill. He was reportedly suffering from a cold and a headache and was diagnosed with sinusitis. He was released to his home after two hours of testing.
Netanyahu’s personal physician, Dr. Tzvi Herman Berkovich, said that Netanyahu’s tests found no problems. He maintains a healthy lifestyle and enjoys good nutrition. Netanyahu trains several times a week and recently successfully passed a physical fitness exam that placed him in the top decile of his age group.
