Soldier Killed During Training on Golan
An IDF soldier in the engineering corps was killed on Tuesday afternoon on the Golan Heights while training in mine disarmament in an old mine field.
The military has not yet determined the cause of the explosion which took his life.
Hia unit entered the mine field to gain practical experience after a course of study in disarmament. The soldiers were performing routine identification of mines when, early on, the fatal explosion occurred.
The engineering units he was with suspended training in the mine field until the cause of the accident has been found.
