Israeli Hiker Found Dead on Bus in Peru

Shira Roth, an Israeli who was traveling in Peru, was found dead on a bus in that country’s capital of Lima, Thursday. Israeli investigators are on the way to Peru to determine the cause of her death, which occurred under unclear circumstances.

The 21-year-old was on a hike in the northwestern part of the country, but complained that she was not feeling well. She climbed aboard a bus headed for Lima, but when she did not alight, the driver went to her seat and found that she had passed away.

Speaking to Israel Radio, Roth’s father said that they hoped authorities would be able to arrange for the return of his daughter as soon as possible in order to arrange for her funeral.
