Israeli forces have initiated an operation targeting Hamas sites in the Zeitoun area of central Gaza, as reported by the IDF on Thursday morning.

The operation commenced with a series of precision airstrikes on around 25 identified terror targets, comprising military installations, underground tunnels, surveillance outposts, sniper positions, and other infrastructure associated with terrorist activities.

During the night, the IDF observed multiple rocket launches originating from Rafah toward the Kerem Shalom border crossing. Fortunately, all projectiles landed within Gaza, failing to breach into Israeli territory.

This action follows an earlier incident on Sunday when Hamas launched a barrage of rockets at Kerem Shalom, resulting in the deaths of four soldiers and prompting the temporary closure of the crossing. Kerem Shalom serves as a crucial entry point for humanitarian aid into Gaza and resumed operations on Wednesday.

In response to these events, the IDF highlighted Hamas’s deliberate endangerment of civilians in Gaza by conducting military operations from within populated areas.
