Netanyahu at F-15 Base: Israel Prepared for Multiple Fronts Amid Iranian Threats
By Yoni Weiss
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, during a visit to an F-15 base on Thursday, emphasized Israel’s readiness to respond to threats on multiple fronts, implicitly addressing recent Iranian threats of retaliation. His remarks come amid the ongoing war in Gaza, with Israel also facing potential escalations from other regional actors.
“We are navigating through challenging times, not only contending with the Gaza conflict but also ensuring the return of our hostages. Beyond that, we’re gearing up for potential challenges from other areas,” Netanyahu told the assembled F-15 pilots. The F-15 fleet, known for its long-range strike capability, stands at the forefront of Israel’s aerial defense and offense strategies.
Netanyahu’s comments were perceived as a veiled warning to Iran, following Tehran’s threats to strike Israel in revenge for an incident last week. An Israeli operation allegedly targeted an Iranian consulate in Damascus, leading to the death of two generals among several officers of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
“Our principle is clear: We will retaliate against anyone who targets us. We are fully prepared to uphold Israel’s security, whether in defense or offense,” Netanyahu declared, signaling a strong stance against any form of aggression.
The Prime Minister’s visit and statements come in the wake of a Bloomberg report, suggesting Iran might be planning an imminent response using high-precision missiles and drones against key Israeli military and government locations. This report has heightened tensions and anticipations of an Iranian strike, showcasing the volatile security landscape in which Israel finds itself.
Netanyahu concluded his address by expressing his full confidence in the capabilities of the Israeli Air Force, wishing them success in their critical mission to safeguard the nation’s security.
