A Shin Bet investigation has uncovered revelations about terrorists from the Islamic Jihad undergoing training on Iranian soil.

In a coordinated operation in December, the IDF and Shin Bet arrested Basel Mahadi, a commander of an Islamic Jihad platoon in Gaza, who provided critical information during interrogation in Israel. Mahadi detailed the training activities, explaining that the terrorists traveled to a military-style training base in Iran, supervised by Iranian soldiers. Approximately 15-20 Islamic Jihad members from Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria participated in the 15-day course, which included physical fitness training and shooting practice with various weapons, such as Kalashnikovs and sniper rifles.

Mahadi shared the intricate journey of his training, revealing that it began with his travel from the Gaza Strip to Egypt, followed by stays in Syria and Lebanon before reaching Iran. The 15-day program covered intensive physical and shooting exercises, involving training with different weapons at varying distances. The detailed account included specific training durations for weapons like Kalashnikovs and Dragunov sniper rifles, emphasizing the comprehensive nature of the training received by the terrorists on Iranian soil.
