In a Wall Street Journal op-ed, former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett hinted to Israel’s targeted actions in Iran, citing Iran’s pervasive role in Middle Eastern turmoil and global issues. He decries the lack of global action against Iran’s actions, writing, “Enough is enough. The evil empire of Iran must be brought down.”

Bennett outlined Iran’s strategy of leveraging terror groups to carry out its agenda and highlights the need to focus resources on weakening Iran rather than engaging its proxies. During his tenure, Bennett aimed to avoid direct conflicts with Iranian allies, emphasizing the importance of concerted efforts to undermine Iran’s influence.

He stresses the need for collaborative action, citing various methods to weaken Iran and urging U.S. leadership in this effort. Bennett compares this approach to the fall of the Soviet Union, emphasizing the role of both internal decay and external pressure in bringing about change.

Additionally, Bennett hints at Israel’s involvement in significant actions against Iran during his term, including the destruction of a UAV base on Iranian soil, thwarting an Iranian terror plot targeting Israeli tourists in Turkey, and the subsequent assassination of the unit’s commander in Tehran.
