IDF Announces Death of Five More Soldiers

The IDF on Sunday confirmed the deaths of five soldiers killed by terrorists in Gaza, Hy”d.
Sgt. Maj. (res.) Rani Tahan, 40, an operations sergeant of the 261st Reserve Brigade’s 8717th Battalion from Sde Nechemia, and Master Sgt. (res.) Yakir Biton, 34, of the same battalion from Yerushalayim. Both Tahan and Biton lost their lives in combat in Gaza, contributing to a total death toll of 63 in the ground operation.
Additionally, the IDF announced the passing of Maj. (res.) Chen Yahalom, 35, an officer in the Artillery Corps’s 8159th Battalion from Kfar Azar, who died on Shabbos. The circumstances surrounding his death were not specified by the IDF.
Later Sunday, the IDF reported two more soldiers who were killed r”l. Lt. (res.) Adir Portugal, 23 years old, from Mezekrat Batia, an officer in the Shaked Battalion of the Givati Brigade, and Sergeant Gal Mishaelof, 21 years old, from Modi’in, a member of the Saber Battalion of the Givati Brigade, both of whom were killed by terrorists in the northern Gaza Strip.
