Violent clashes broke out on Thursday morning in Jenin between the IDF and armed Palestinians, resulting in the death of a Palestinian terrorist. The IDF, along with Border Police undercover agents, launched an operation in Jenin to apprehend a terrorist cell.

During the operation, a specialized police team arrested two individuals who were sought after and positioned near a building. As the arrest took place, gunfire emerged from the building toward the forces. In response, the security personnel swiftly returned fire and initiated the process of entering the building.

The IDF confirmed that amidst the exchange of gunfire, a 32-year-old resident of Jenin named Mustafa Al-Kastouni was fatally wounded. The army noted that Mustafa had fired at the forces and attempted to evade arrest. He had been involved in terrorist activities, including shooting at IDF personnel. Palestinian sources identified him as a member of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades.

In the aftermath, Israeli forces conducted a search of the building and discovered weapons along with numerous explosive devices, all of which were rendered harmless by the IDF.

As the troops were departing, they encountered disruptions marked by gunfire and the hurling of explosives towards them. In response, the IDF engaged in return fire. In the course of these events, one soldier sustained minor wounds from shrapnel and was subsequently transported to a medical facility for treatment.
