IDF Investigating Explosion Along Lebanese Border

A spokesperson for the IDF confirmed that the military is investigating an explosion along the border with Lebanon Tuesday afternoon. The incident is not being treated as a terror attack.

According to Lebanon’s Al-Mayadeen channel, the explosion was an Israeli landmine. Al Mayadeen also said IDF soldiers were injured. The IDF did not comment on those claims.

The blast comes amid the backdrop of the IDF investigating how a Hezbollah terrorist managed to enter Israel and plant a bomb at the Megiddo Junction last week. Sherif al-Din, a resident of the northern Israeli village of Salem was injured in the blast.
