There continues to be difficulties for students seeking to enter Israel, Chaim V’Chessed reported Thursday. Student visa holders currently in Israel who wish to travel, and then return to Israel, may obtain permission to return to Israel by visiting the Interior Ministry offices.

Interior Ministry officials warn all student visa holders contemplating travel abroad to make sure to obtain this permit before leaving Israel. Student visa holders who leave Israel without this permit risk not being allowed to return.

It continues to be quite difficult to obtain these permits, due to the dearth of appointments at the Interior Ministry. Efforts are being made to streamline the process.

At this time, there is no process to apply for re-entry to Israel. Therefore, despite the difficulties, it is crucial that anyone traveling who intends to return to Israel brave the process and obtain their permit.
