14,000 Palestinians Riot at Gaza Border; 5 Killed
Fourteen thousand Palestinians took part in violent protests at the Gaza border Friday, according to a spokesman for the IDF. Five Palestinians were killed, a spokesman for Gaza’s Health Ministry said.
Israeli military officials said they were checking the reports of the deaths, amid weekly Palestinian protests along Israel’s border fence with Gaza. Israel accuses Hamas, the Palestinian Islamist movement that controls Gaza, of orchestrating the protests to provide cover for attacks.
