Arab Teen Caught With Knife at Me’aras Hamachpelah

IDF soldiers overnight Thursday caught an Arab who attempted to enter Me’aras Hamachpelah with a knife. The culprit was a 14-year-old boy, who approached security personnel at the site holding one of his hands behind his back. Officers surrounded the Arab and detained him. The knife was confiscated. Thousands of Jews were at Me’aras Hamachpelah Thursday night, seeking to say Selichos on one of the last nights of Aseret Yemei Teshuvah before Yom Kippur.

IDF soldiers overnight seized weapons that were to be used in terror attacks. Soldiers, working with police, discovered weapons in Kafr Yatta, near Chevron. In a statement, the army said that such weapons were used in terror attacks as well as for criminal activity, and that security forces were determined to seize all weapons that were being held illegally by all people, in order to better protect all Israelis and residents of Palestinian Authority-controlled areas, who are also under threat by terrorists and criminals.

IDF soldiers on Thursday night opened fire on three Arabs who were seen sneaking along the Gaza border fence. One of the three threw a firebomb at soldiers, who opened fire on the terrorists. There were no injuries among Israeli soldiers.
