Netanyahu Asks May to Stop U.K. Funding Left-Wing NGOs

YERUSHALAYIM -

In his meeting with British Prime Minister Theresa May on Monday, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu raised the issue of her government’s funding of left-wing groups in Israel.

Netanyahu said that Israel has ascertained that the U.K. is funding the left-wing NGOs either directly or indirectly by transferring millions of dollars to organizations such as Christian Aid and CAFOD (Catholic Agency for Overseas Development) which, in turn, forward the sums to NGOs such as Breaking the Silence, in particular.

Netanyahu provided a detailed list of the funding in recent years, and asked May to put a stop to it.

Breaking the Silence denied receiving funds from the British government.
