IDF troops prevented a stabbing attack Monday morning near Tulkarem. The troops opened fire on the terrorist, who ran at them with a knife in his hand. The terrorist was shot and injured. No Israelis were injured.

The incident occurred near the town of Tzur Natan. The terrorist was caught attempting to breach the fence to get into the town. Officers warned him to stop, and he refused. Soldiers opened fire and badly injured him. Security officials said that the terrorist was an 18-year-old resident of a village near Tulkarem.

Also Monday, police chased down a vehicle containing two residents of the Arab town of Kfar Kassem. The two were in Herzliya late Sunday and were heard by witnesses saying that they planned to carry out a car-ramming attack in Tel Aviv the next day. The witnesses told police what they had heard, and a search was opened for the vehicle, which the witnesses were able to identify as well.

The two were eventually caught after a high-speed chase on Road 5, a main east-west artery, early Monday. They were arrested and are being questioned.
