Border Police Officer Succumbs to Wounds From Counterterror Operation

The Israel Police announced on Wednesday that an Israeli Border Police officer, critically wounded during a counterterror operation in the Tulkarem area, passed away due to his wounds.

Chief Inspector Yitav Lev Halevi, a 28-year-old commander in the Border Police’s elite Yamam counterterror unit, sustained injuries during a raid in the village of Dayr al-Ghusun near Tulkarem on May 4.

The raid also resulted in the deaths of five terrorists affiliated with Hamas.
