War Cabinet Extends Mandate of Hostage Negotiation Team

The War Cabinet on Sunday extended the mandate of the Israeli negotiating team involved in the ongoing hostage deal talks, according to two senior Israeli officials familiar with the situation who spoke to Walla! News.

Headed by Mossad Chief David Barnea, Shin Bet Director Ronen Bar, and Major-General Nitzan Alon, the team departed for Cairo on Sunday afternoon. Their mission is to meet with the Prime Minister of Qatar, the head of the CIA, and the chief of Egyptian intelligence in a bid to achieve progress in the hostage negotiations.
