Qatar: Hamas Gives Preliminary Approval for Hostage Release, Ceasefire Deal

The Hamas terror group has given an initial approval of a hostage release and ceasefire deal with Israel, Qatari Foreign Ministry officials said Thursday.

Qatar also says that Israel has agreed to the plans, which were discussed in Paris between leaders of the terror group, Israel, and Qatari, Egyptian and American mediators.

The details of what was agreed upon are not known at this time. Earlier this week, Hamas maintained its insistence on a complete ceasefire as a condition for the release of hostages. Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has remained firm in his opposition to any deal which would leave Hamas in power in Gaza.
