Anti-Overhaul Activist Remanded for Assaulting Minister at Shopping Center

A woman, identified as Yarden Mann and associated with the anti-judicial reform protest movement, has been remanded in custody for reportedly assaulting Environmental Protection Minister Idit Silman at a shopping center in Rechovot.

Police suspect Mann of threatening and slapping the minister.

The Rishon LeTzion Magistrate’s Court has extended Mann’s remand for five days. Police claim that Mann, while filming the minister, teased and threatened her, eventually knocking her cellphone out of her hand and slapping her. Mann denies the allegations, presenting footage that purportedly shows no attack on Silman.
