Police to Form Special NYPD Task Force to Tackle Drag Racing, Highway Takeovers

NEW YORK — New York City will soon have a special police task force assigned to dealing with the rise of dangerous drag races and highway takeovers citywide, a senior NYPD official told PIX11 News on Monday.
Instead of chasing cars on the ground, the task force will employ advanced technology to track cars used in such incidents.
Police hope to have the task force fully formed by the week’s end, according to the official.
