Next Wave of Hostages Released: 14 Israelis, 3 Foreign Nationals Handed Over to Red Cross

The Hamas terror group released 17 captives into the custody of Red Cross workers early Sunday evening, a spokesperson for the IDF said.

Among those released were 14 Israeli citizens and three foreign nationals. One of the 14 was a dual Israeli-Russian citizen who was released aside from 13 promised through negotiations.

IDF special forces adjacent to the border fence the central Gaza Strip were ready to receive 12 hostages. From there, they will make their way to the Hatzerim Base, as in previous releases. One released hostage who returned to Israel was evacuated via a helicopter directly to a hospital.

Four other released hostages were transferred over to Egypt through the Rafah Crossing, from which they will make their way to the meeting point with IDF soldiers in Israeli territory.

The following is a list of Israelis released Sunday, according to the Prime Minister’s office. A list of the foreign nationals will be available later.

Hagar Brodetz (40 years old)

Ofri Brodetz (10 years old)

Yuval Brodetz (8 years old)

The Goldstein-Almog family:

Chen Goldstein Almog (48 years old)

Agam Goldstein Almog (17 years old)

Gal Goldstein Almog (11 years old)

Tal Goldstein Almog (8 years old)

The Elyakim family:

Dafna Elyakim(15 years old)

Ella Elikim (8 years old)

The government together with all the security forces will accompany them and their families.

The releases are part of a ceasefire deal that Israel made last week, mediated by Qatar. The deal, if kept, will secure the release of 50 Israeli women and children in exchange for a ceasefire on the part of Israel and the freeing of 150 Palestinian prisoners, teenagers and women, arrested for committing terrorism.
