‘Kosherfest’ Food Exhibition Discontinued

By Matis Glenn

After 33 years of annual events, the organizers of the Kosherfest food exhibition have decided to end the program.

“After extensive discussions with our consultant, Bellwether exhibitors and very thorough analysis, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue Kosherfest,” a statement from Diversified Communications, which co-runs the event said. “Due to today’s changing supermarket category manager buying responsibilities and the elimination of the kosher buyer in many major supermarket chains, exhibitors feel Kosherfest has run its course and there is no longer significant return on investment to justify exhibiting at the show.”

Founded by Menachem Lubinsky of the Lubicom consulting group, the event showcased trends in the kosher food industry, and connected food producers with wholesale buyers and other businesspeople. The expo also featured cooking demonstrations, lectures, and awards.

Most Kosherfest events were held at the Meadowlands center in New Jersey.
