Herzog in Toulouse to Mark Ten Years Since Massacre

President Isaac Herzog arrived in France on Sunday to mark the tenth anniversary of the deadly terror attack in Toulouse and to meet with President Emmanuel Macron.

Herzog began his visit in the morning with a diplomatic working meeting with Macron.

Herzog and hsi wife Michal visited the Ohr Torah Jewish school in Toulouse, the site of the attack in 2012 in which Jonathan, Arié, Gabriel, and Myriam Hy”d were murdered.

They laid a wreath at the monument commemorating the victims of the attack, stood for a minute’s silence, and then met teachers and students who were present at the school at the time of the attack.

Later, together with former French Presidents François Hollande and Nicolas Sarkozy, President Herzog and the First Lady joined President Macron and his wife Brigitte Macron in meeting school principal Yaacov Monsonego and his wife Yaffa, who lost their eight-year-old daughter Myriam Hy”d in the massacre.

The Presidents heard from the families about their heavy loss, the challenges that have accompanied them over the past decade, and the strengthening of the Jewish community of Toulouse after the disaster, and they offered words of comfort, an official statement said.
