Further Drop in Israel’s New COVID Cases

The Health Ministry reported 2,320 new cases of coronavirus on Monday. The infection coefficient is still at 0.72 and the percentage of positive tests has risen slightly and stands at 2%.

The number of patients hospitalized in critical condition has dropped to 427, of whom 187 are being ventilated.

The figure represents a 35% decrease from the same number two weeks earlier when the tally of severe cases stood at 660. The ministry added at least 75% of patients currently in serious condition have not been vaccinated against coronavirus.

To date, 7,940 COVID patients have died since the outbreak. In addition, 1,275,749 corona victims have been infected in Israel so far.

The Health Ministry has updated that 3.8 million people have received the third dose of the vaccine.
