The Reform-backed Women of the Wall drew less than 20 people at the Kosel for its Rosh Chodesh gathering, far less than the hundreds expected to take part, Arutz Sheva reported.
By contrast, thousands of Orthodox women turned out for the Monday morning tefillos.
Last month’s Women of the Wall event, which had only dozens instead of the hundreds anticipated, may have been the reason for Monday’s poor showing.
“The failure of that prayer event could have led the Reform women to give up and decide not to attend this month’s provocation,” the Matteh Hameshutaf LeShmirat Kedushat HaKotel [The Joint Forum for Preserving the Sanctity of the Western Wall] said.
The group noted that the non-traditional were so few that police barriers put up every month to separate the two groups were not needed, freeing up more space at the traditional Ezras Nashim.
