Likud Minister Collapses With Chest Pains in Knesset
Communications Minister Ayoob Kara (Likud) collapsed at the entrance to the Knesset plenum, complaining of chest pains, on Wednesday afternoon.
Kara received emergency medical treatment at the scene before being rushed to a hospital for tests.
Eyewitnesses said that the minister was standing just outside the plenum when he confided to those around him that he felt pains in his chest and other sensations. After a few seconds, he briefly lost consciousness, Arutz Sheva reported.
Joint List MK Ahmad Tibi, a physician, was summoned to treat Kara, and was joined by a Knesset doctor.
Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein said in a statement that “on behalf of all MKs I want to wish Ayoub Kara a speedy recovery to full health.”
Edelstein said the Knesset plenary will remain closed for the rest of the day and will resume tomorrow morning.
