Nasal Products and Baby Oral Gels Recalled for Possible Microbial Contamination
Product Quest Manufacturing is voluntarily recalling nasal products and baby oral gels that were manufactured at the company’s Florida facility, due to a finding of microbial contamination, the FDA announced. But there is no known microbial contamination associated with these products.
These Product Quest products are sold under numerous store brands, including Walgreen’s and CVS. A full list of the recalled products is available here.
Repeated use of a nasal product containing a gram-negative pathogen can potentially lead to an infection that can be life-threatening for certain patients, such as those with cystic fibrosis or immune-compromised individuals. Repeated use of an oral gel product containing a pathogen can potentially lead to an infection that can be life threatening for certain patients, including babies or very young children.
Product Quest has not received any complaints regarding these products related to this recall.
