Netanyahu was speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for an Israel Railways tunnel that will run through the Sharon-region city of Ra’anana, along with a new train station. The tunnel is part of the overall improvement to the central region’s train system, which will incorporate the subway system being built in Tel Aviv and its suburbs. PM Netanyahu attended the event with Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz.

“We are opening up opportunities for all Israelis. We have opened highways and established light rails, but we are going to have to dig a lot more tunnels like this using advanced technologies, in order to further improve the lives of Israelis,” the Prime Minister said.
