Police Rescue Four People on Inflatable Rowboat on LI Sound
Authorities say four people on an inflatable rowboat were rescued from the Long Island Sound after they couldn’t get back to shore.
Suffolk County police say the boat was blown far from shore around 9 p.m. Saturday after the four headed out from Shoreham Beach in Shoreham to do some fishing.
They say the boaters were unable to row back to shore after winds picked up due to an approaching thunderstorm.
Police say they located the craft using radar.
No one was injured.
