Judge Sets Trial Terms for Ex-Leader of NY Senate
A federal judge has agreed to shorten the daily schedule for retired state Sen. Joe Bruno’s second fraud trial unless the ex-Senate leader uses the extra time for press conferences like he did during his first trial, The Associated Press reported. Judge Gary Sharpe will convene from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the new trial, which starts Monday, since the 84-year-old Republican had cancer surgery last year. But he cautioned that if Bruno holds 9 a.m. press conferences, they’ll go back to a 9 to 5 schedule.
